Baking has always been my happy place. Watching simple ingredients like flour, sugar, and butter transform into something delightful felt magical to me. When I started my home bakery in 2021, it felt like a dream come true. Every cake I baked and every smile I delivered reminded me why I loved what I did. But life doesn’t always go as planned. After my wedding, my priorities shifted. Adjusting to the demands of a joint family, taking on new responsibilities, and managing daily chores from morning to night left little time for my bakery. What was once my passion became an afterthought. While I embraced my new roles, a part of me felt lost.

One day, he gifted me an Activa scooter to make my commute easier. It wasn’t just a practical gift; it was his way of saying, “I’m here for you, and I believe in you.” That small gesture rekindled my passion and reminded me that it was okay to dream again.

I’ve always been the kind of person who could light up a room with my words. A talkative, family-oriented girl, I had a natural ability to connect with people. Give me a few minutes of introduction, and soon we’d be laughing like old friends. Kindness and a helping nature were second nature to me. I couldn’t watch anyone struggle without stepping in to help—it gave me a sense of purpose.

After getting married, however, everything changed. My new home was quiet, and conversations only

happened when necessary. No one chatted casually, and I often found myself sitting in silence. It was so different from what I was used to that I began to feel isolated. The loneliness was suffocating, and gradually, I became quieter too. I no longer recognized the lively, talkative girl I once was.

The only time I felt like myself was when my husband came home from work. I would eagerly wait for him, ready to share every thought and detail of my day. But after a long day at the office, he often needed time to decompress. “I need a little space,” he’d gently say. Though I understood, it wasn’t easy to hear. Yet, through his care and patience, he taught me something invaluable.

One day, he said, “You need to learn to say no. You don’t have to take on everything. If you can’t do something, just let it go. Don’t let others assume you’ll always do it all.” His words hit me harder than I expected. At first, I couldn’t imagine saying no to anyone. It felt unnatural and selfish.
